JMS 1000
JMS 1000 is a high-impact, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene engineered for medical fabrication where strength, durability, and repeated flexibility are essential. Its exceptional toughness makes it ideal for fabricating long-lasting foot orthoses, braces, shells, hand prostheses, and unbreakable splints. JMS 1000 can be formed at a recommended temperature range of 325-375°F for approximately 4-12 minutes, depending on sheet thickness and individual oven performance. Some shrinkage during heating is normal. Avoid molding directly over a wet cast; a stockinette should always be used as a barrier. If the material begins to flow, melt, puddle, or develop bubbles, it has been overheated or left in the oven for too long.
